About
Compass, the university web framework, is a cross-unit initiative from Technology Services and Enterprise Marketing and Communications that's designed to bring consistency in branding and structure to VCU’s web presence.
Compass is an ongoing initiative that provides the building blocks to create a website. It:
- Integrates with T4, the university’s content management system
- Is available to T4-trained university staff at no cost
- Includes web components, introductory documentation and twice-weekly open consultation sessions with VCU Web Services
Release cycles
The first version of Compass was released to the VCU web community in July 2020. Going forward, Compass will continue to be improved with seasonal releases that include new components, documentation, bug fixes and other useful assets.
Our team will regularly check in with the larger university web community to make sure we’re building a framework that aligns with what you need.
You can help shape the Compass roadmap and prioritize components for future releases by sharing your suggestions and requests with us at compass@vcu.edu.
